Spring is a season that has an undeniable charm, evoking feelings of renewal and new beginnings. As the days grow longer and the weather milder, we begin to awake from those dim, cold days of winter. One of the most beloved symbols of this season and my personal favourite is the humble the daffodil. Its bright yellow glow signifies the arrival of spring with thoughts of summer sun to come. In the language of flowers, daffodils are associated with rebirth and vitality, making them the perfect emblem for spring.
Springtime traditionally is a time to refresh in all things. It’s the perfect time to rethink and plan. This is particularly true within the home. Spring is a time to revitalize your home. A simple makeover with a change of paint colour or a more considered approach with new furnishings and decorative items.

One of the most beautiful ways to bring the season’s energy indoors is through the addition of antique furniture and complimenting decorative antiques. French antiques in particular with their varied periods, styles and designs can bring this energy to life. The vivid colours often used on French painted furniture come life in the spring sunshine.
It’s not just French antique furniture that will help enliven your home in spring. Typical additions to this would be a rustic French farmhouse table, or a vintage French mirror, each piece will add to a refreshed decor telling its own individually story bringing warmth to your home.

The humble daffodil plays its part well, bringing our homes and interiors back to life reminding us that warmer, longer days are just around the corner. It’s also a time for us at lantiques to look forward to continuing the search for those unique antique pieces so sought after.
